Dimbleby must beware Robbo’s wrath

By Axegrinder axeblog

The BBC political editor Nick Robinson no one’s fool and doesn’t take kindly to anyone who takes the piss out of him.

Veteran broadcaster David Dimbleby managed to get on Robbo’s wrong side
during the Beeb’s election night coverage last week.

But judging by his blog, Robinson knows how to settle a score. He fired off the following
angry note:

If you’re watching the TV programme in England and saw David Dimbleby mock me for repeating what he’d just said, you might be interested to know that one of my first jobs was as the researcher who whispers facts into his earpiece.

Later I was the editor of programmes he made, and he advised me to become a reporter. I took his advice. Now, it’s my turn to give him some!

Axegrinder reckons that might just be a very short, two-word piece of advice.
