Harrods boss Mohamed Al Fayed has lost some weight.
This fascinating fact was deemed worthy of the lead item in Telegraph diarist Celia Walden’s Spy column.
Mo was spotted at a West End nightclub looking a bit thinner, although it appears no one was brave enough to approach the great man to ask about his new slimline figure.
A phone call from the Spy to his spokesman later elicits the following response: “He has lost quite a bit, yes.â€
Amazing.
But Celia neglects to mention the star-studded event at which the Knightsbridge shopkeeper was spotted.
It was, in fact, her boyfriend Piers Morgan’s book launch.
But then, Piers himself had a few choice words for thelondonpaper when it came to describing his invited guests: “It’s all journalists here and they’re all tight bastards.â€
