B2B bosses feel Heat at ‘superior’ Emap

Over at Emap, which is selling its consumer magazines and radio divisions to Bauer, the bosses of the B2B portfolio have been busy dreaming up ways to put a positive spin on things.

Announcing the decision to retain the B2B portfolio, a senior executive told staff that at least the sale of celebrity gossip mags such as Heat and Closer meant Emap could now be seen as a much more “morally superior” proposition.

New Emap then: a holier-than-Bauer company without the cash cows it so happily milked since the trend for laughing at celebrities with sweaty armpits took off.
