The Sun is to accompany the launch of its new weekend TV magazine with a star-studded TV advertising campaign.
The new giveaway Buzz will replace its existing TV Mag title when it’s given away with the paper this coming Saturday.
In addition to TV news and celebrity interviews, the new magazine will also feature fashion, food and home pages and a revamped TV listings section.
News International appointed Jane Johnson, The Sun’s associate editor who launched Closer and News of the World‘s Fabulous magazine, to lead the project.
The publisher has also has spent the last six weeks recruiting new editorial staff to work on the new title.
Johnson said: “Buzz will bring our readers the very best in British TV entertainment in a modern and exciting format.
“We’ll feature a unique take on all the top shows from X Factor to Emmerdale, from the Apprentice to the Inbetweeners.
“Plus, Buzz will be shopping heaven – our lifestyle pages will be filled with what’s new in fashion, beauty, home and food. If it’s hot, you can be sure it’ll be in Buzz!”
According to the publishers the launch will be promoted by a multi-million pound marketing campaign entitled ‘Entertainment Bottled’.
A 12-week series of TV and outdoor ads will feature Denise Van Outen, Louie Spence, Tina O’Brien, Keith Lemon, George Lamb, and Bruce Forsyth.
As a teaser to the arrival of the magazine, The Sun launched a perfume – also called Buzz – earlier this month, working with parfumier Roja Dove and making the scent available only in Harrods.
