A Mayfair-based businessman in his 80s is marrying for a fourth time – to Rolling Stone Mick Jagger’s former super model ex.
Randy Rupert Murdoch, 84, splits his time between luxury homes in Mayfair (where he has hobnobbed with Prime Minister David Cameron) and New York. He parted from wife number three, 47-year-old Wendy Deng, two years ago.
He announced his planned wedding to Jerry Hall, 59, in the births, marriages and deaths section of his London-based newspaper – The Times. Hall has four children with Sir Mick and appeared on BBC reality show Strictly Come Dancing in 2012.
Australian-born Rupert wed for the first time in 1956 (before wives three and four were born). He has six children ranging in age from 57 to 12 and another 12 grand children.
Minted Mr Murdoch is said to be worth more than £8bn thanks to his stake in media businesses around the world which include red-top tabloid The Sun in the UK and TV and film company 21st Century Fox in the US.
News of Murdoch's engagement was reported on page three of today's Times – but not in The Sun.
