BBC Magazines is hoping to spread some spiritual enlightenment with the launch of a magazine based on the television series Songs of Praise.
Published quarterly to coincide with key points in the religious calendar, Songs of Praise magazine will feature the towns and cities shown in the programme, the television presenters Eamonn Holmes, Aled Jones and Pam Rhodes and guest celebrities. It will also contain music and book reviews and listings for upcoming events.
Editor Liz Vercoe, on secondment from her job as executive editor of BBC Radio Times, told Press Gazette: “It was such a delight to be offered this.
Working on Radio Times for nine years, I was already familiar with the audience and programme, it is such a lovely opportunity. The places they go to are so gorgeous and the people they talk to are so lovely, it has got such a warm feeling, it’s ideal to translate into a magazine.”
