Two monthlies close in Aberdeen

By Press Gazette

Aberdeen Journals has dropped two monthly publications run by its subsidiary North of Scotland Newspapers, which is primarily involved in specialist and niche market publishing.

The Aberdeen and North of Scotland Business News, which was launched 11 years ago, and glossy lifestyle magazine The Journal, have ceased publication.

Business News editor David Telfer is now working on the business desk of The Press and Journal. The decision to close both titles came in a rationalisation review by Northcliffe Newspapers, which owns Aberdeen Journals.

Aberdeen Journals suffered a 45 per cent drop in profits to £3.6m last year.
