Posing as a rich American businessman, Greg Palast was able to expose the role of lobbyists with strong connections to the Labour hierarchy such as Jon Mendelsohn and Derek Draper, who promised firms access to the most powerful figures in government for cash.

Draper famously revealed to Palast that: “there are 17 people who count and to say I am intimate with every one of them is the understatement of the century”.
