The Sunday Times Scotland deputy editor Carlos Alba has stepped up to become editor.
Alba, 41, joined The Sunday Times Scotland in 2000 as chief reporter/deputy news editor from The Daily Record, where he was Scottish political editor. In 2001, he was promoted to deputy editor, Sunday Times Scotland.
Prior to The Daily Record, Alba wrote for The Herald as education correspondent, The Edinburgh Evening News as chief reporter, The Press and Journal and started his career at The Dumfries and Galloway Standard.
In other changes at Sunday Times Scotland previous news editor Camillo Fracassini has been made deputy editor, while previous assistant editor, politics Jason Allardyce has been made associate editor.
Fracassini, who has been at the paper since 2003, was foreign editor/deputy news editor at Scotland on Sunday. He has also written for The Scotsman, The Associated Press in Rome, Edinburgh Evening News, and the National News Agency, London News Network, Sunday Mirror, Daily Mail, Hendon & Finchley Times, and the South East London & Deptford Mercury.
Allardyce, joined the paper in 2004. In 2000, he was political editor at Scotland on Sunday and prior to that, he was Scottish political reporter for The Times in 1998. He has also written for The Scotsman and began his journalistic career as a reporter for the West Highland Free Press on the Isle of Skye.
