Strikes planned

By Press Gazette

NUJ chapels representing journalists on the Carlisle News & Star, Cumbrian News and Whitehaven News are planning strikes in support of a 4 per cent pay claim.

The chapels will have to give management at the Cumbrian Newspapers owned titles seven days’ notice of when strikes will take place.

lThere has been a lull in the pay dispute at Newsquest regional newspaper centres in Bradford and Kendal. The NUJ said further strike action will take place unless there are successful pay talks with the management.
