Selvedge, the independent textile magazine, celebrated its first
birthday with the news it has secured international distribution and
had been nominated for a PPA award, writes Alyson Fixter.
The
bimonthly glossy, which has a subscriber-based circulation of 15,000,
is self-published by editor Polly Leonard, a former artist and teacher.
Selvedge is read by fashion and interior designers, artists and others in the textile industry, as well as upmarket consumers.
It
was shortlisted for the Consumer Specialist Magazine of the Year award
by the PPA, and will be distributed in the US from next issue.
Leonard
said: “My dream was of a beautiful magazine dedicated to textiles – not
just textile art, but textiles in every facet and form.”
