Scottish PA editor quits her position

By Press Gazette

Scottish Press Association editor Christine Jardine has left her job at short notice.

Staff were told in an e-mail from London which informed them that she had left to “spend more time with her family”.

During her two years in the role Jardine oversaw the expansion of PA’s service in Scotland – culminating in the launch last year of the Scottish Press Association.

She also spearheaded the rollout of PA’s video news gathering operation north of the border, providing news footage to all the major broadcasters.

PA’s Scottish operation had substantially expanded in 1999 with the opening of the Scottish Parliament.

PA’s editor Jonathan Grun said: “We would like to thank Christine for all the hard work and enthusiasm she has brought to the challenges she has faced over the last two years.”
