The Irish Catholic newspaper, owned by the Catholic Herald, has appointed Simon Rowe as editor.
He replaces David Quinn, and will leave his current post as senior editor with Dublin-based magazine publishing company Ocean Publishing to take up his new post on 8 September. A former business journalist with Business and Finance Magazine, Rowe has also been a radio producer with the Dublin all-talk radio station, NewsTalk 106.
Commenting on his editorship of the weekly title, he said he wanted to assure a “very loyal readership” that under his direction the newspaper will continue to provide news and quality analysis and comment on issues of secular and church importance.
