Jonathan Ray, BBC political correspondent in the East Midlands, has
been appointed head of communications at the East Midlands Development
Agency, based in Nottingham.
Ray, 37, joined the BBC as a
graduate trainee in 1990 and became one of the corporation’s youngest
news editors. He later spent 10 years at ITV Central, working as a news
reporter and presenter, and producing factual series.
Ray has also worked as a media relations consultant within the public and private sector.
He
will oversee the teams handling media and public relations, campaigns
and publications at the EMDA and will manage all corporate and
international marketing.
