Press freedom watchdog Reporters Without Borders has protested at the arrest of 14 journalists covering a Greenpeace protest against the presence of the single hull oil tanker Vegamagna in the Bay of Gibraltar.
RWB general secretary Robert M?nard protested to Foreign Secretary Jack Straw at the arrests while doing their work in a manner that he said “could have put their lives in danger.”
The 14 were intercepted by Gibraltar police as they headed towards the Maltese-flagged tanker on 20 January.
