Donald Trelford presided over the New Year party of the London Press Club in his new role as president.
Women in Journalism members, who had been specially invited to the party, heard Trelford outline a timetable for the club’s events in 2003.
These include the annual debate on the press on 20 February, the annual cartoon exhibition on 11 March, and on 20 March a combined event with Women in Journalism providing a debating panel of women editors.
The biggest event, the club’s annual press awards, takes place on 28 April at Claridges hotel, London.
