The Press Association’s Paul Potts has been appointed chairman of the board of directors of Canada NewsWire, the news agency which is half-owned by PA.
Tom Enright, president and chief executive of Canada NewsWire, said: “Since joining the CNW board of directors in 2001, Paul Potts has contributed to CNW’s understanding of important trends effecting our industry and provides an important connection to the news media through his network of contacts in Canada, the US and abroad.

Potts is chief executive and editorinchief of the Press Association and will continue in that role. Before joining PA in 1995, Potts was political editor and then deputy editor, of the Daily Express. He was appointed chief executive of PA in 2000.
