Photographer is presumed dead

By Press Gazette

Fashion photographer Simon Atlee, who worked for GQ, Arena and
Russian Vogue, among other titles, is missing, presumed dead, in the
Boxing Day tsunami disaster.

The 33-year-old was swept away with
his girlfriend, Czech model Petra Nemcova, while holidaying at the Thai
resort of Khao Lak, near Phuket.

Nemcova was rescued after
clinging to a palm tree for eight hours and is recovering from a broken
pelvis. Atlee’s last shoot took place before Christmas with rugby star
Jonny Wilkinson for fashion label Hackett.

Hundreds of tributes to Londonbased Atlee have poured in to his agent, Eve Stoner, since the news broke.

Stoner
said: “In his career he touched so many people, which has become
apparent by the grief shown by the dozens of people arriving at the
agency daily with photographs and stories to sign our book of
condolence.
