Tony Patey has been made business editor at Kent on Sunday, and will oversee a new eight-page business section.
Patey was City reporter for the Daily Mirror until 1987, when he left to become business and economics correspondent for The European.
In his new role at Kent on Sunday he will lead business coverage in the paper, and in a revamped online section.
Patey said: ‘Joining an award-winning newspaper with high ambitions is a great challenge – and I’m really looking forward to making what I hope will be a positive contribution.”

The business section launched last Sunday. There are plans to add four pages later in the year.
