PA extends terms of staff annual bonus

By Press Gazette

The Press Association has extended its annual £300 bonus to include
staff who have worked for the agency for less than three years.

The move followed discussions at the company’s work councils, including representations from NUJ members.

Chief
executive Paul Potts said in an email to staff: “The management has
listened very carefully to this argument and I am pleased to say that
as a result, we have decided to pay a proportion of the bonus to staff
who joined the company during 2003 and 2004.”

The NUJ chapel at
PA, which does not have official recognition, this week submitted a pay
claim that includes five per cent on basic salary for the next two
years, pay scales across the company, a system of time off in lieu for
overtime and extra pay of £3,100 as inner-London weighting.
