By Press Gazette

The NUJ’s Jim Boumelha has been elected as the new honorary treasurer of the International Federation of Journalists at the XXV World Congress of the IFJ in Athens.

The triennial Congress elected a new leadership. As well as Boumelha, its officers’ group comprises: president Christopher Warren from Australia; senior vice-president, Danish journalist Soren Wormsley; and vicepresidents Linda Foley from the US and Osvaldo Urriolabeita from Argentina.

“I am thrilled that the NUJ is represented as such a high level in the IFJ,” said Boumelha.
