LBC 97.3FM, the London-based commercial speech radio station, has added two high-profile, former BBC presenters to its roster of personalities.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond has joined the station to present various programmes across the schedule.
Bond, whose husband Jim Keltz worked at the station for a number of years, will also return to the area of expertise she held at the BBC for 14 years before retiring in August – she will double up as an LBC royal commentator.
While at the BBC she covered the deaths of the Queen Mother, Princess Margaret and the Princess of Wales, and was with Prince Charles in Australia in 1994 when an attempt was made on his life.
Bond said she was looking forward to sharing her years of knowledge with the LBC audience “and having some fun on a variety of shows”.
The other LBC 97.3FM signing is former BBC Five Live presenter Fi Glover, currently living in New York. From there, she will front Fi-Mail from America, a weekly “sideways look” at the news from the US, which will feature as part of Krishnan Guru-Murthy’s Sunday morning current affairs show between 10am and noon.
Glover left the corporation in July to go on sabbatical leave to the US to write a book about American radio.
