Karen Kay has been appointed editor of Executive Golf, a new golf and lifestyle magazine from IBMG, in a freelance capacity.
The
magazine will be published quarterly from this month. Its initial
circulation is anticipated to be 50,000, distributed to members of the
UK’s top 100 golf clubs, including Wentworth, Stoke Park, Brocket Hall
and The K Club.
Kay said: “We are aiming to tap into the luxury end of the golfing market.
We
acknowledge our readers are welltravelled, well-informed, affluent
highflyers who don’t want yet another cluttered page scattered with
instructors’
swing sequences and endless shots of the fairways of Augusta and Ian Poulter in his union flag trousers.”
Kay
has signed up Guardian golf correspondent Lawrence Donegan; Sunday
Times journalist Andrew Porter; Times feature writer Lisa Grainger; and
former Mail on Sunday correspondent Chester Stern.
Kay will continue as contributing editor on the Mail on Sunday’s You Magazine.
