We are delighted that Andrew Brown has finally admitted that the Southport Champion is a better paper than The Southport Visiter (We’re better than you, but not at spelling, Letters 15.08.08) and given an apology of sorts for his paper’s wild coverage of the recent Open Golf Championship.
He mentions a literal mistake in one of our columns, the ‘unforgivable’rendering of Pierce Brosnan as Pierce Bronson. We, however, are willing to overlook the mispelling in his letter of his own newspaper’s title.
It’s ‘Southport Visiter”, Andrew. Not ‘Visitor”.
