Period Living & Traditional Homes is urging its readers to reveal any mysterious objects they find lurking beneath their floorboards.
The move is part of a new look designed to give the magazine more of a “community feel” and enable readers to share their experiences of living in old houses.
It also follows the arrival of editor Sharon Parsons in July.
The April issue will feature new typefaces and better use of colour, along with several new sections. “One of the key sections is Stories from Home where we will be inviting readers to tell us what they have found under the floorboards and about the legends and folklore that go with their homes,” said Parsons.
Readers will be asked to send in any ghost stories and old manuscripts or documents linked to their properties.
The magazine’s revamp also sees a Hidden History section that will trace the history of properties and show how they looked 100 years ago.
The magazine’s redesign has been implemented by designer Georgia Hibberdine, who also worked with Parsons on Top Santé when Parsons was editor.
A new post of homes editor has also been created for Caroline Rodrigues, a former contributor to Homes & Antiques.
