Herlihy finds a good home in BBC mag

By Press Gazette

BBC’s Good Homes has appointed Bernie Herlihy as its new editor.

Herlihy
is currently editor of sister title Homes & Antiques, which
re-locates to Bristol later this month as part of its new division,
Bristol Magazines, borne out of the sale of Origin Publishing by BBC
Worldwide.

Prior to joining BBC magazines in July 2005, Herlihy
had been editorial director at Publicis Blueprint, group editor at
Forward Publishing on Tesco’s loyalty publications and managing editor
for M&S International at Redwood Publishing launching the title in
Hong Kong, France, Germany and Republic of Ireland.

Herlihy’s 15
years of experience in the magazine business also encompasses various
editor roles on Wedding and Home, and a two-year stint as deputy editor
on BBC Magazines’ own Clothes Show magazine.

BBC Magazines
deputy managing director and group editorial director Nicholas Brett
said of the move: “Bernie is a terrific editor who’s shown her flair
and team leadership in the makeover of Homes & Antiques which
leaves for Bristol in great editorial shape. We’re delighted that
Bernie’s staying to lead the UK’s fastest-growing homes magazine, Good
Homes, to even greater heights.”
