Greenslade’s ‘on the press’ column ends

By Press Gazette

Former Daily Mirror editor Roy Greenslade’s weekly Guardian “on the press” column has ended after six years.

The
newspaper has yet to appoint a successor; for the past two weeks the
column has been written by former New Statesman editor Peter Wilby.

Greenslade
is to continue writing for the paper’s weekly Media Guardian
supplement, which is expected to expand as part of the paper’s autumn
relaunch in Berliner format. He will take on big interviews and
features.

Greenslade said it was strange not to be able to
describe himself as a columnist anymore and said: “I’m a columnist
without a column.”

As well as writing for The Guardian, Greenslade is professor of journalism at City University.
