GMWN names new editorial management

By Press Gazette

Following the departure of editor-in-chief Nigel Wareing to the Irish Newsletter, Greater Manchester Weekly Newspapers’ southern division has reshuffled its editorial management team.

Stewart Rigby will become managing editor and will be responsible for the news, content and design of the newspapers within the group. Richard Catlow will become editorial director and will be responsible for newspaper sales, editorial training, external relations, editorial campaigns and promotions.

The roles of editor-in-chief north and editor-in-chief south will no longer exist.

Rigby and Catlow will have joint responsibility for recruitment and selection of GMWN journalists. Rigby will also join the Cheshire and Lancashire board.
