Fergusson lands BBC Bristol post

By Press Gazette

Ian Fergusson has been appointed manager of the BBC Bristol press and public relations team. He is replacing Helen Richards, who has moved on to intranet projects within the BBC in Bristol and London.

Fergusson previously managed public relations for the Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service as well as running the Local Broadcasting Group’s community television news service in Hertfordshire. During the past year, he has also freelanced as a cameraman and video journalist, covering Herts stories for BBC London News.

His new remit includes regional television, local radio, factual programmes such as the Antiques Roadshow and the BBC’s Natural History Unit.

Fergusson said: “A core appeal of this post is the opportunity to champion what the BBC does best -producing quality factual, news and current affairs programming for national, regional and local audiences.”
