Eve: October redesign planned

Eve has hired journalists from Marie Claire and Woman’s Own to sharpen up its fashion, beauty and art departments ahead of an October redesign.

The BBC Worldwide glossy has poached Pippa Adey from Woman’s Own to be fashion editor and former Marie Claire Health & Beauty journalist Annabel Jones to be beauty editor.

Adey was fashion editor at Woman’s Own and set up its new fashion department. She was previously fashion and style assistant on Woman’s Journal.

Jones was beauty editor on Marie Claire Health & Beauty and has worked for Cosmopolitan, Vogue and the Daily Mirror’s M magazine. Emma Goodman has also quit after eight years on IPC’s Marie Claire to become Eve art editor. She will head a team of three designers and have an integral part in creating the new look which is expected to have a heavy focus on glamour, with redesigned fashion and beauty sections. Celebrities are also expected to be given prominence following Eve’s exclusive in the current issue with US Sex in the City star Cynthia Nixon. The reshuffle at Eve follows the appointment of new editor Jane Bruton and publisher Jo Morrell. They have completely revamped their team in a bid to boost sales. Eve’s latest ABC was 121,157.

Recent appointments include Lesley Thomas, former Sunday Express Magazine editor; Elizabeth Cocozza, former Woman’s Journal fashion and style director; Dina Koulla from Heat; former 19 editor Samantha Warwick; and Marie Claire Health & Beauty editor Catherine Turner.
