Production editor at the Leicester Mercury, Mark Clayton, is leaving
the paper to join Trinity Mirror as editorial development manager for
the regional titles.
Reporting to Neil Benson, Clayton will work
on editorial best practice, including newsroom structures, best use of
technology and product development across the division.
Benson
said: “I’m delighted that someone with Mark’s depth of experience is
joining the team. He’s a great signing for us as we address the
challenge of a rapidly changing media landscape.”
During his 16
years in Leicester, Clayton has held a number of senior roles,
including county editor, when he was responsible for five separate
titles; feature editor; and assistant editor in production and design.
