Nigel Dacre, the former editor of ITV News who became the dean of media studies at the London College of Printing in January, has resigned his academic post to return to programme making.
He will work with independent production company Ten Alps and its acclaimed documentary-making subsidiary Brook Lapping, “on a range of topics” after serving his notice period. Dacre said his move marked a return to collaboration with the award-winning independent.
Dacre, who oversaw the move of the LCP Media School from Back Hill to its new £28m studio complex at Elephant & Castle, said it was therefore “a natural time to move on,” and will leave before the new academic year commences.
He said of his time at LCP: “I’ve enjoyed it. But I’m keen to get back into the television business – in more of a central role.”
