A new fortnightly publication targeting people who help develop successful communities has been launched.
Communities
Today, published by Trinity Mirror’s Inside Communications, will cover
a range of issues including regeneration, education, housing and the
environment, public health, community policing, planning and design.
The first issue carries an interview with the newly appointed Minister for Communities, David Miliband.
Current
editor of Inside Housing, Kate Murray, is overseeing the launch as
editor-in-chief and Bill Randall, who has a long track record in public
sector journalism, has been brought in as consultant editor.
Amena Saleem has moved across from Inside Housing to become features editor.
There will be four full-time editorial staff based in Canary Wharf, with additional content supplied by contributors.
Murray
said of its launch, “Sustainable communities are at the top of the
Government’s agenda and it is an area of growing importance for people
working on the front line in the public sector.
“Communities
Today will be a blend of news, interviews, features and opinion pieces
that will discuss the real issues that are faced by communities across
the UK.”
