Chef Heston Blumenthal has quit his Guardian column weeks after the
paper revealed food hygiene failings at his restaurant on its front
page. Instead, he is to provide cookery advice for readers of The
Sunday Times’ Style magazine.
In May, journalists used a Freedom
of Information request to discover that health inspectors had found
unacceptable levels of bacteria in the kitchens of his restaurant, the
Fat Duck at Bray. It was later given a clean bill of health.
A spokesman for Blumenthal said: “He felt it was time for a change.”
