BBC3 has revealed details of its news and current affairs strands as it gears up for launch next month.
The News Show will be the youth channel’s flagship bulletin. A daily, 15-minute programme going out at 7.45pm, it will be fronted by former Radio Five Live Breakfast presenter Julian Worricker, Sangita Myska from BBC News and Tazeen Ahmad from BBC Choice.

The programme will run national and international news, sports and entertainment news as well as special reports.
The News Show will also look at the day’s news agenda as presented across other broadcast networks, the press and the web.
It will be edited by Colin Hancock, who said the programme would differ from other BBC News output in a number of ways.
“The fact we are targeting BBC3 viewers allows us to be slightly more specific than other news programmes,” he said. “It will also have a different pace: we’ve got 14 minutes to get a lot of news in.”
The News Show will run in addition to 60 Seconds, the evening hourly news round-up currently on BBC Choice and which will transfer to the new channel when it formally launches on 9 February.
On the current affairs front, The Third Degree will be an investigations programme conducted by journalists David Akinsanya, Navdip Dhariwal, Raphael Rowe and Sangita Myska.
The Third Degree will run directly after The News Show at 8pm, for anything between 30 minutes and hour, “depending on the subject matter,” a BBC spokesman told Press Gazette.
