The BBC has appointed Tamsin O’Brien as head of regional and local programmes in the North West of England.
O’Brien, who is currently head of BBC Yorkshire, will replace Leo Devine who moves to the BBC nations and regions central team as head of journalism.
O’Brien said in a statement: "I am sad to be leaving Leeds and the great team who work in West Yorkshire but the opportunity to return to the area where I spent ten wonderful years is too good to pass up."
The former editor of North West Tonight began her career with the corporation while she was still at university and worked for several local radio stations across the country before moving into TV to work for Midlands Today.
