Awards World will target publishers

By Press Gazette

Magazine publishers will be targeted by a B2B title dedicated to awards next month.

The quarterly Awards World from Blue Moon Publishing is aimed at event organisers associated with the business of awards.

Co-publisher Karmala Panday said: “We think there is a big market that is being missed. It is an important niche. There are hundreds and thousands of awards and a lot of expertise and information within the sector and it is a marketplace that has not been pulled together.”

“Magazine publishers are a big proportion of our overall circulation, which we have broken down to include magazine, newspaper publishers and broadcast media.”

The 60-page title will also cover corporate awards and internal incentive award schemes.

It will be distributed free initially, but the aim is to build circulation by paid for subscriptions.

Tony Murray, former editor of Adline and The Marketeer, is the launch editor and the company is in the process of recruiting a permanent editor and a number of freelance writers.

The company is also planning to launch its own awards ceremony by the end of the year known as “Awards for Awards”.

Blue Moon also publishes the monthly magazines Credit Today and Credit Risk International.
