Archant seals its London future with new office

By Press Gazette

Archant’s recent acquisition of 27 weekly newspapers in the London region from Independent News and Media has prompted the Norfolk based group to open a London office.

Chief executive John Fry opened Media House in Ilford last week to house the group’s 52 London newspaper titles, magazines and websites.

Designed by award-winning architects, Spacelab UK, the building has a number of innovative features such as special climate control and air-conditioning units to help keep staff cool and create a pleasant environment.

The internal layout has been designed to encourage people from different departments to mix, in turn encouraging communication and creativity.

The new office will replace the old Recorder House building, home of the Recorder Series of weekly papers for the last 50 years.

Enzo Testa, executive managing director, Archant London, commented: “Media House captures the spirit of our business with its bold, forward-looking design.

“It provides us with a facility of which we can rightly be proud as we strive to continue the success story of Archant London.”
