Abrupt resignation of second Northcliffe daily editor in five days

By Press Gazette

By Dominic Ponsford
Mike Lowe has abruptly resigned as editor of the Bristol Evening Post.
Staff were told today that Mike Norton, editor of
the Derby Evening Telegraph, is coming in as editor-in-chief of Bristol
United Press group (which includes the Western Daily Press) from July
4.
Lowe is the second Northcliffe editor to leave his post suddenly in less than a week.
On Thursday www.pressgazette.co.uk broke news
that David Gledhill had left after 11 years
at the Bath Chronicle.
Lowe joined the Bristol Evening Post as editor in
1996 replacing Adrian Faber who left the paper to join Live TV as an
executive producer.
Lowe came to the title from the Derby Evening Telegraph and has also
been editor of the Gloucester Citizen.
