Adam Sills has been promoted to head of sport at Telegraph Media Group.
Sills first joined the Telegraph in 2010 as sports editor of the daily title and was made acting head of sport when Ben Clissitt moved to be “director of visual journalism” in February, according to the Sports Journalists' Association.
Like Clissitt, Sills joined Telegraph Media Group from The Guardian, where he had worked since 1998, eventually rising to become head of sport planning.
The Telegraph said in a statement: “The promotion is in recognition of how Adam has led his team to develop an effective digital strategy while maintaining the quality of the print section.
“During his time as Acting Head of Sport, Telegraph Sport has enjoyed a substantial growth in digital audience and launched digital innovations such as Project Babb.
“The print section has also been relaunched with a new look to coincide with the World Cup.”
