The Times and Sunday Times have launched a stand-alone app for their sports coverage.
The Times Sport App, available on desktop, tablet and smartphone, is free to download and access is included in existing print and digital subscriptions to the News UK titles.
As well as reporting breaking news stories, the app will also provide live match commentary, highlights of England’s home cricket matches, Aviva Premiership rugby and the FA Cup.
Alan Hunter, head of digital for The Times and The Sunday Times, said: “The launch of Times Sport is another example of why The Times and The Sunday Times are the home of quality sports coverage.
"Our unrivalled journalism will now be enhanced with near-live clips and highlights from a range of sports. Nobody else provides such a complete sporting package.
"During the mouth-watering summer of sport we have to look forward to, I am confident that Times Sport will be the only place to keep up with all the action.”
Suzi Watford, marketing director for The Times and The Sunday Times, said: “This is the perfect accompaniment to our daily edition keeping our members up-to-date with all the latest action wherever they are.
"Combined with our award-winning journalism and video highlights in our tablet edition this makes The Times and The Sunday Times the first-choice for sports fans.”
