The director-general of the BBC and the chairman of the BBC Trust are to be questioned by the Welsh Assembly for the first time.
Lord Hall and Lord Patten will appear before the Communities, Equality and Local Government Committee at the Senedd in Cardiff tomorrow.
The appearance comes after the committee carried out an inquiry into the future for the media in Wales.
It is the first time both the chair of the BBC Trust and the director-general have given evidence to an Assembly committee inquiry.
Committee chair Christine Chapman said: "The Committee welcomes Lord Patten and Lord Hall’s decisions to contribute to our inquiry and we are looking forward to hearing their views on the future of the media in Wales and the BBC’s role in it.
"The Committee’s original inquiry highlighted a vibrant and creative media industry in Wales but also called for an independent body to look at issues such as the devolution of powers over broadcasting.
"We are returning to this issue to find out what progress has been made following our recommendations and how the media landscape in Wales has changed since our report two years ago."
The hearing gets under way at 9am tomorrow.
