New website launched for ‘year when Scotland takes centre stage’

By Press Gazette

The publisher of the Daily Record has launched a new website "for Scots everywhere" ahead of the referendum on Scottish independence.
Scotland Now will cover the Commonwealth Games, the Ryder Cup and other key Scottish events this year – including the all-important referendum.
Trinity Mirror Scotland said the new online publication was aimed at "Scots from around the world or anyone who loves Scotland".
Editor Katrina Tweedie said: "The appetite for information about our small country has never been greater, not least from the 700,000 Scots expats across the UK and an estimated 50 million people around the globe with an affinity to Scotland.
"Unashamedly patriotic, Scotland Now will be a place for Scots throughout the world to share what we’re talking, reading, thinking and laughing about."
She added: "In a year when Scotland takes centre stage, we believe this is the perfect time for a website that speaks to global Scots."
The publication also includes a "Scotland shope" showcasing the work of the local creative community including designers and writers.
