Non-subscribers to The Times and Sunday Times are enjoying a rare treat this morning – access to the News UK websites.
Less than a week before their sister title The Sun goes behind one, The Times and Sunday Times paywall has been "temporarily suspended".
A spokesperson for The Times said: "We are currently doing routine maintenance to The Times and The Sunday Times website which means the subscription and log-in processes have had to be temporarily suspended while this work is completed."
Here are some (mostly) celebratory tweets:

Times paywall is down – it's like 1989 Berlin over in Wapping. I'm just waiting for the Hoff to appear.

Dashing around the Times website Ctrl+c'ing when the paywall is down reminds me how much I miss Supermarket Sweep.

Peeking behind the [temporarily dead] paywall, the Times website really isn't much good. Awful navigation.
