Axegrinder loves bumping into celebrities, and had heard that Ralph Bernard, the Capital Radio and Classic FM boss, has been allowing Pete Doherty to use the gatehouse to his Wiltshire pad while he cleans up his act.
Bernard thought Doherty would keep a low profile, but no such luck.
Axegrinder, who sometimes spends his weekends in Wiltshire, bumped into the bad boy of rock at the local WHSmith’s in Marlborough High Street.
Doherty, I am pleased to report, smiled patiently at me and then waved as though he knew me. We’ve never met before, but I was nevertheless flattered.
