Top impressionist Rory Bremner did his version of the Budget for Telegraph.co.uk. His “Gordon Brown” presented the Budget with the bad news left in. However, despite it being not exactly side-splittingly funny, Bremner constantly referred to “Mr Speaker”.
Surely someone as politically astute as Bremner would know that the speaker doesn’t sit for the Budget ‒it is the deputy speaker who is in the chair.
