The Liverpool Daily Post and Manchester Evening News worked together to produce ae glossy, 68-page magazine North West Top 200, which ranks the best businesses in the region by turnover.
Liverpool Daily Post editor, Mark Thomas, said in a press release: “While Liverpool and Manchester have their own distinct business communities, and there is a deal of healthy rivalry between them, many businesses take a much more regional view. Indeed, many of the biggest businesses have senior executives hot-desking between the two cities.”
The magazine, sponsored by Barclays, marks the first collaboration between the two Trinity Mirror papers. North West Top 200 appears as a supplement in today’s Liverpool Daily Post and is free for the readers of MEN’s recently launched weekly, Greater Manchester Business Week.
The magazine’s top 200 was compiled by a team of MBA students from University of Liverpool Management School led by Murray Dalziel.
Liverpool Daily Post business editor Bill Gleeson, who edited the supplement, said on their website: ‘This is an innovative supplement that draws upon the combined research capability of the university’s Management School and the journalistic and distribution resources of the Liverpool Daily Post and the Manchester Evening News. It provides a unique insight into the state of the region’a biggest firms.”
