Public sector cutbacks send job ad revenue tumbling at Johnston Press

Regional newspaper publisher Johnston Press this morning reported advertising revenues down 10.6 per cent year on year in the 18 weeks to 7 May.

It reported that public sector cutbacks have had a “significant effect” – with recruitment advertising down 30.7 per cent year on year.

The share price this afternoon was just under 8p – down from a high four years ago of more than £4.50 per share, as this graph from Yahoo Finance shows.
