Billy Kenber is a name to watch. The graduate from City University’s MA in investigative journalism was named winner of the Hugh Cudlipp Award for published student journalism last night at the London College of Communications.
Kenber was awarded the £1,000 cash prize for a 5,000 word piece which made the front page of the Independent and detailed the mistreatment of failed asylum seekers on secret forced deportation flights from the UK.
Kenber is now working for The Times as one of two graduate trainees.
