Two free newspapers weekly ‘pick-up’newspapers, Eastbourne Advertiser and Worthing Guardian, have been ‘mothballed’by publisher Johnston Press, according to a report this morning.
Holdthefrontpage reported this morning that the closure will not result in any staff changes or affect the main papers in the two areas – they are the Eastbourne Herald, Eastbourne Gazette, the Worthing Herald and Worthing Advertiser.
Closure of the Worthing Guardian makes it two papers the town has lost in recent months. Press Gazette reported in October that free weekly the Worthing Sentinel had ceased publication.
Neither paper appears to be accredited with the Audit Bureau of Circulations
